“I’m honored by the endorsement of the HLTA and I strongly support the tourism industry as the backbone of our economy. But, I also recognize that we are beyond our island’s limit for tourists which is contributing to a declining quality of life for both residents and visitors. In order to support a thriving tourism industry on Kaua’i, we need to do a better job of managing the tourists we have rather than marketing to new ones. As a candidate for Kaua’i County Council, I understand this delicate balance and I am committed to working with the hospitality industry to achieve it.”
